EST. 2024 — SIM RACING ATELIER

Collectible Hardware for People Who Feel The Road.

Re-Routed is not another sim company. We make objects that belong on a shelf, on a desk, on a wall — and happen to be the fastest way around a corner.

Manifesto

Your rig looks like a hospital cart. Your wheel looks like a toy. We fixed that. Machined, anodized, stitched — hardware you want to keep for 20 years.

Drop Model

Limited runs. Numbered. No restocks. When Heritage Edition is gone, it's gone. This is not mass production.

01 The Problem
Why your setup feels disposable

Every sim rig looks like it was designed by an engineer who has never seen a car.

Aluminium extrusion. Black plastic. RGB you didn't ask for. Performance is solved. Desire is not. You spent $3k on a rig that photographs like server rack. You hide it when guests come over. That's the problem we were hired to solve.

Functional But Soulless

95% of sim hardware optimizes for lap time at the expense of material honesty. No patina, no weight, no story.

Collectibility Gap

Real drivers collect helmets, Chronographs, steering wheels. Sim drivers have... a Logitech box in the attic. We are closing that gap.

02 Insight
The emotional shortcut

People don't buy horsepower. They buy the moment before the corner.

The insight: sim racers are car collectors who ran out of garage space. They don't need more telemetry. They need an object that triggers the same dopamine as a 911 GT3 door thunk. So we design for hand-feel first, data second.

“Make it feel like a $400k steering wheel that happens to have a QR code.” — Early brief

03 Design Language
How we make it feel expensive

Chamfer, not fillet. Brass, not plastic. Silence, not RGB.

Every Re-Routed edge has a 0.8mm chamfer polished by hand after anodizing. No visible screws. No mold lines. We use a language borrowed from Leica, Bang & Olufsen, and pre-1975 Porsche instrumentation: negative space, weight, and one precious material per surface.

Signature Moves

• Knurled brass encoders • Hidden fasteners • 120g rotary inertia • No logos on front face

Color System

Black base (RAL 9005 deep matte), raw brass, and Re-Routed Gold #D4AF37. Never more than two materials in sight line.

05 Materials
What it’s actually made of

We don't render materials. We buy them and abuse them.

If a supplier can't send a 10cm sample we can scratch, heat, and leave in sun for a month, we don't use it. Current roster: Mitsubishi 6061-T6 (Japan), Pohang brass C3604, Tempesti Elbamatt leather (Italy), and custom silicone with 70A durometer for grip.

Why Brass?

It develops patina from hand oils. After 6 months, your wheel is literally yours. No two age the same.

Why Not Carbon?

Carbon is overused and tells no time. Brass tells time. It gets better, not just lighter.

06 Ecosystem
More than a wheel

One hub. Infinite faces. A shelf that becomes a rig.

The Re-Routed Hub is a machined torque tube with integrated 30Nm direct drive. Faces swap with a quarter-turn brass bayonet — GT3, Formula, Heritage, and upcoming collaborations. When you’re not driving, it mounts on the Wall Dock: a solid walnut shelf that charges and displays.

Hub

Direct drive, 30Nm, <1ms latency, silent cooling

Faces & Docks

3 faces at launch, wall & desk docks, brass bayonet (no tools)

07 Why Now
Timing is a material too

Sim racing just crossed into car culture. Hardware hasn't.

2023-24: Porsche, Ferrari, and BMW all run official sim teams. Used sim wheels now resell on Grailed. But nobody is making the Rolex of sim hardware. The window is 18 months before Logitech and Fanatec catch up. We are building the object they will copy in plastic in 2026.

We are not competing with Fanatec. We are competing with your watch box.

08 NEW CONCEPT
Slip-Over Skin
Just Landed — Matte White Hypercar + Gold Halo

Slip-Over Skin System: Your rig, wearing a hypercar.

Matte white hypercar skin, gold underglow halo changed from blue to gold. This is not a wrap. It's a thermo-formed, magnetically retained slip-over that re-skins your entire rig in 45 seconds. Inspired by the 963 RSP — flat white with no reflections, only form.

GOLD HALO — Was Blue, Now Gold • 2800K
NEW CONCEPT • Patent Pending

Matte White Hypercar Skin
With Gold Underglow Halo

We killed the blue underglow. Blue is gaming. Gold is sunset on the Mulsanne straight. The halo is a 12mm edge-lit acrylic diffuser running the entire perimeter, 2800K warm gold, dimmable via brass encoder.

  • — Material: 2.2mm ASA, matte white, soft-touch, UV-stable — no yellowing
  • — Fit: Universal slip-over, magnetic retention, no tools, 45-sec install
  • — Halo Change: Previously ice-blue (6500K), now Re-Routed Gold (2800K) — warmer, collectible, photographs like a light sculpture
  • — Why Matte White: Shows shadow, not reflection. Makes any rig look like a clay model from a hypercar studio

Design Note

Blue halo said “PC gamer.” Gold halo says “object that lives in a living room.” Same electronics, different intent. That one color change moves us from tech to furniture. That's the whole brand.

Drop Info

Skin System ships Q2. First 100 include brass install key and provenance card. Gold halo is default; blue halo no longer offered.
